Common information

Cites depends on the species.
Toads can leave toxic substances though their skin so always wash your hands after handling, ecspecially Bufo Marinus. Which is the biggest toad in the world. This toad is known for its toxic glands which create a LSD-like trip. This sounds fun, but it is toxic enough to kill you almost instandly. so after handling it is wise to wash your hands !
Bufo species can be found all over the world.

Cage demands

These creatures aren't very active, and don't require a large cage. Even when they have large cage (150x60 cm or 60x25 inches) they tent to sit in a corner of it under 1 hiding place, where you can always find them. So 50x50 cm or 19x19 inches is enough for 2 toads, for Bufo Marinus slightly bigger. The height of the cage is barely a difference, toads do not, or it is very unusual for them to climb. Lay a mixture of sand, and some soil of the woods on the ground, A water place for them to swim, drink, and lay eggs in, Tempeture for most toads 25 celcius or 77 fahrenheit, This variates to much to write down for every species, so ask an expert (mail me), or look it up yourself.

Feeding

Insects, wurms, mice, snails, and bigger toads pieces of meat.
Try to avoid crickets as much as possible they will make your toad even lazier fat and unhealty, When a toad is hungry it will eat anything what moves, and smaller is then himself, so watch out when combining

Difference in gender

The males are smaller and thinner.
And often have mating pillows on their front too's.

Mating and reproduction

The male graps the female under her armpitts, Then she will jump to the water. Often before and during this procces are bass-like noizes produced. B. Marinus lays up to 20000 eggs, but most toads somewhere in the range of a few hundred. The eggs will lay in strings, not in clumbs like frogs.

Expierience

B. Regius.
Tads aren't active animals, except for Bombina Orientalis (another family).
So when you want to keep an toad i strongly suggest this toad, not only is this creature more active, it is easyer to keep, it does behave oterwise and on a fun manner, and i say it is way more beatiful then most toads. (see Bombina for more information.)
